ORIGINAL MEME HERE: [link]
As you can see, I don't really play many different series...
I shall try to explain why I picked these as best I can :XD:

1. Link: Well you had to know he'd be showing up in this at some point. It just so happened that he was first. So yeah. Of the games I've played, despite all the other really cool characters, I'd have to say that Link is my favorite male character. He was the first character I ever saw in a video game too. Link's Awakening was my very first game, and it took me eleven years to beat.

2. Zelda: Another one that should have been obvious. I just picked young Zelda because she's easiest to draw :XD: Even though she wasn't in Link's Awakening, she was still one of the first female video game characters I was introduced to. The first game I actually played that had her, was Super Smash Bros. Melee. I didn't really know anything about her at the time, but she was one of my favorite characters to play just because of her moves. Therefore, she is my favorite female character.

3. Eight: Well if you haven't noticed by now, Eight is my favorite Dragon Quest hero. He's just so cool. :XD: Who wouldn't love to play someone who is immune to curses and doesn't know why? It was so cool to find out! I figured out pretty early who his dad was, but I never would have guessed at his mom! He never actually eats cheese in the game, but I thought it was fitting considering his heritage. For being so awesome and courageous, Eight wins favorite hero.

4. Vaati and Psaro: I just couldn't decide on this one! They're both so cool and I like them both so much!
Vaati is just really cool :XD: How can I not like a character who started out really small, envied humans, became a demon, and then transformed into a bizarre flying eyeball!? That's just really cool! Not to mention he isn't that bad looking either :XD: A little strange perhaps, but not ugly.
Almost the same with Psaro. How can you not love a slightly mentally unstable demon king of monsters who is pushed over the edge when his girlfriend by the humans he despises so much for abusing her? He's pretty much the only final Dragon Quest boss I've seen that appears before you beat the guy you think is the big bad. I could rant on him all day, but I don't want to say too much :XD:
So, in the end, I just couldn't decide, so both Vaati and Psaro are my favorite villains.

5. Khalamari Kid: Not sure this counts as a character :XD: It's actually a monster, but it's just so darn cute! I have one in Dragon Quest Monsters Joker that I named Squishie. He sucks in battle, but he's so adorable that I carry him around in my substitutes anyway. Though Great Sabercubs come as a close second... Khalamari Kids are really cute, so they get cutest character.

6. Navi: I don't really know that I have much to say here. It bothers me that so many people really hate her. Sure she can be a little annoying if you're on your sixth playthrough, but back when Zelda debuted on the Nintendo 64, they had to have some way to explain the controls to the players. Navi's just trying to be helpful, and she gets a lot of hate for it. If you just stop to think, she is actually really important. There are lots of things you couldn't have done without her, she keeps you on track, and she forms a really close bond with Link, helping him get through the sudden changes after being trapped in the sacred realm all those years. I dunno. This came out longer than I expected, but I just think that there aren't nearly enough people that appreciate Navi like they should. That's why she's my favorite under appreciated character.

7. Stella: You were probably expecting Sheik, right? I bet a lot of you don't recognize this character. Or, those of you that do, probably don't think of her as all that mysterious unless you've made it to the end of the game (or at least have the extra quests). I found her to be really interesting though, and I still haven't even finished all of the extra quests with her yet. I don't want to give anything away, so i'll just stop here and say she's my favorite mysterious character.

8. Slimes: They're adorable, smart, diverse, and fun to kill. It took a really long time, but I finally decided on slimes. Slimes are pretty much impossible to not adore. It's a cute little blob with a face, and the weakest enemy you are likely to ever meet. But that's certainly not the end of them. There's also bubble slimes (or babbles) which are like the goopy green poison versions of other slimes, but they still have that same silly smile. And don't forget the king slimes, the rulers of the slimes. What with their pudgy faces and giant hats, they're just so much fun to look at. Then the metal slime family. Probably the most desired random encounters of all. They're metallic yet just as slimy and silly, and they give ridiculously huge amounts of experience points. So maybe it's not just slimes, but rather the whole slime family that takes favorite battle monster.

Wow. Such a long description. At least I remembered the html coding for bold and such this time. Normally I can't ever remember it -.- But yeah, pretty much the entire explanation for all my choices can be read above.
